Vigoquin 0.5% Eye Ointment 5 gm belongs to the class of ‘antibiotics’, primarily used to treat bacterial eye infections, such as bacterial conjunctivitis. A bacterial eye infection occurs when bacteria invade any part of the eyeball or its surrounding tissues, including the cornea (clear front surface of the eye) and the conjunctiva (thin membrane lining the outer eye and inner eyelids).
Vigoquin 0.5% Eye Ointment 5 gm contains Moxifloxacin, a bactericidal agent that kills bacteria, causing a wide range of infections. It works by stopping bacteria’s ability to copy their genetic material (DNA), which stops them from reproducing and ultimately kills them.
